More than two dozen researchers are on their way to Antarctica to collect clues from ancient icebergs.
Carrying a massive team of scientists, the drillship JOIDES Resolution left Chile on March 20, headed for the Southern Hemisphere.
There, Expedition 382: Iceberg Alley and Subantarctic Ice and Ocean Dynamics of the International Ocean Discovery Program (IODP) will drill cores of sediment from a remote section of the seafloor.
